Projects

Here's a small sample of the amazing organisations we’ve worked with over the years.

Global Care, Lebanon

Global Care is an International Children’s Charity working with the most vulnerable and marginalised children, empowering local people to develop projects which work in their community. In 2016 Emma went to Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon with the charity to create content on the work they do. This including radio interviews, a radio documentary, blogging and creating social media content. You can listen to the full documentary here; Teaching refugees

Emma was very proud to work with the charity as a journalist, and wanted to showcase how important the work Global Care do is. She would love to do more work with similar charities and provide content which can be used to tell their stories.

The Seeing Dogs Alliance, UK

Founded in 2008, The Seeing Dogs Alliance is a pioneering charity founded by a group of passionate people with a mission to provide specially trained guide dogs to visually impaired individuals, giving them the freedom and confidence to navigate the world. Training a fully qualified guide dog is an intensive and costly process, with each dog requiring around £20,000 in training costs. The charity relies heavily on donations to cover these costs, with each donation directly contributing to the welfare of the dogs and the people they serve.

Emma has partnered with The Seeing Dogs Alliance to expand its social media presence, craft engaging press releases, and create new opportunities for fundraising. Her role involves raising awareness about the charity’s incredible work, helping to connect with a wider audience, and ultimately securing the support needed to train and provide these life-changing dogs to those in need.

Working with The Seeing Dogs Alliance has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and it’s always a joy to see the progress of the dogs and the positive impact they have on their owners.

Believe To Achieve, Wolverhampton

The Charity Believe to Achieve helps to support young people across the Black Country with a variety of issues which face them today including knife crime, drugs, online grooming, bereavement, poverty and the after effects of the pandemic in 2020. It was founded by Lisa Potts in 2001 - who, as a nursery nurse in 1996 was attacked with a machete at her school in Blakenhall and protected her students from the attacker. She was determined that some good should come out of the awful day and so the charity itself aims to work holistically to enhance self-esteem, personal development, educational experience and future aspirations.  This is done through counselling and therapy services, awareness workshops and support programmes. With Director Nick Pratt, Emma has worked on a number of projects with the charity including Public Relations, Social Media advice and the copywriting of their support manual for parents “From poverty to pandemic” taking this project from handwritten notes to a fully published book. It is a privilege to continue to offer support and guidance to the charity.

Cubs 100, The Scout Association

On the 16th of December 2016, The Scout Association celebrated 100 years of the Cub Scout movement. In the lead up to the anniversary Emma produced multiple articles about Cub Scouting and its importance. This included organising large events across the country for the anniversary, including the main event at the Natural History Museum which was attended by BBC Breakfast TV, Channel 5 and national press. There was also the management of multiple teams as well as internal and external photographers, film crews and staff. It also included preparing interviewees and spokespeople, briefing them and supporting them where necessary for radio, online and television. In this capacity it was my primary aim to create as much press coverage as possible whether that be through ghostwriting or interview picthing, and to monitor how much output there was. Duties also including facilitating media enquiries in a timely manner and being on call to deal with urgent enquiries and crisis communications – whether that be crafting statements or liaising with other team members to provide the right answers. This role also included working with celebrity patrons such as Bear Grylls, Steve Backshall and Helen Glover .

Cornish Lavender, Cornwall

“Emma is an expert in her field of public relations and she has a tremendous amount of social media knowledge. Not only that but she is patient, kind and full of great and original ideas. I cannot thank her enough for her knowledge and expertise.” - Tina Bessell, Cornish Lavender

Working with Cornish Lavender in the summer months was a privelege. Tina set up Cornish Lavender after buying a house in Perranporth with some adjoining land - and seeing the potential of what she could grow. Tina almost single handedly runs the lavender farm - doing all the baking, organising the events and classes, serving in the tea room and looks after all the animals on the farm. Tina felt she was lacking somewhat in her social media knowledge, and this is where Roseleigh Media came in. I went to stay with Tina for three days, where we gathered content in both video and picture form, we discussed and planned out a social media strategy and where she wanted to focus her efforts, and discussed a new platform for her - TikTok. Tina has since been able to put her new skills and thoughts to raising her profile on social media.

Quidem Radio, Midlands

As a Broadcast Journalist working for Quidem Radio, Emma produced, wrote and read the news for multiple stations in the Midlands including Oak FM, Rugby FM, Banbury Sound and Touch FM. The team won runner up News Team of the Year at the IRN News Awards in 2016 where they were recognised for their astute newgathering, community work and strong journalistic skills. Whilst here, Emma went on a trip to Lebanon with charity Global Care which works with refugees who have fled Syria. Work on a documentary with a family from Rugby, who petitioned the government for more funding for Brain Tumour Research and producing social media content with the help of the family for Myton Hospice. All of the skills gained during this time have grown Emma as a journalist and storyteller, working on both short and long term projects and telling stories in an interesting and thoughtful way. One of the most important things Emma learned from the role was to grow and maintain strong contacts - including in press offices, within national and local newsrooms, people within organisations, and members of the public.

Children in Need, BBC

The first charity project Emma took on was Children in Need Co-Ordinator. It was a huge undertaking, gathering all the show content and interviews for multiple shows across a two week period. Liaising with those fundraising, and other charities who would benefit from funding. Creating fun and interactive content, as well as working with organisers on the large outside broadcast event at Exeter University. This was the start of wanting to work with charity organisations and businesses which make a differece.
