Roseleigh Media launched in June 2023 and is the brainchild of Emma Rushton. Emma says, “I wanted to use my skills in Journalism, PR, Social Media and Crisis Communications to work with organisations and charities making a real difference.”

I started life in Wolverhampton and would regularly go and work on market stalls with my Dad - which is probably where I gained my confidence in talking to people. I studied Theology and Religious Studies for my Undergraduate degree before taking on a number of job roles including Switchboard Operator, Recruitment Consultant and in Let Property Insurance Sales. You’ll see from my history I love to talk to all kinds of people.

In 2011 I decided I wanted to do more and had always wanted to be a Journalist. I moved to Falmouth where I studied for a Masters in Multimedia Broadcast Journalism. It was here I fell in love with Radio, and from there worked at BBC Radio Cornwall where I also took on the role as Children in Need co-ordinator, and learned how important local radio is for charity work and making a difference. In 2014 I moved back to the Midlands where I took a role at Quidem Radio, working in a newsroom providing hourly news updates for eight radio stations including Rugby FM, Touch FM, Banbury Sound and Oak FM. Here I honed my interviewing skills - interviewing many notable people including the then Prime Minister David Cameron, Terry Waite, Simon Callow and Jasper Carrott. I also took on some longer form projects including visiting Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon with charity Global Care, working with a family who had lost their son to a brain tumour and following their fight for more funding for Brain Tumour Research, and working within the community to find local heroes doing amazing things. You can read more on this on the Past and Current Projects pages.

My first foray into a Press Office was at The Scout Association and I took on one of the largest campaigns of the year as the organisation celebrated 100 years of cub scouting. This was a fantastic organisation to work in and I loved being a part of something making a difference to young children around the country. Using my skills in press release writing, crisis communications, event management, Public Relations and press campaigns I was able to make an impact.

In 2017 I travelled back into the world of radio with a stint at BBC Radio Leicester, and then 5 years with BBC Radio Cornwall. It was here my journalism skills were refined - dealing with package making, interviewing, live producing on air and providing comfort, information and entertainment throughout the pandemic.

Since then I have worked in numerous press offices, taking on projects and press campaign organisation, but I decided it was the right time to go out on my own. So Roseleigh Media was born. Through Roseleigh Media I hope to take on projects which excite me - meaning you will get the most creative PR person for your brand. I also want to make a difference and have a real interest in working with charities and community interest companies.

I have already been fortunate enough to work with clients on their PR, press campaigns and social media and you can find all my services at the top of the page.

In July 2024 I was also very privileged to deliver a TED Talk that captivated audiences. My speech “Who are you when you give up your dreams? Life beyond the newsroom.” covered not only my career in journalism but the very personal topic of mental health too. You can find the talk here and I am available for further speaking engagements.

I hope to work with your organisation in future.
